Player Of The BlockBLOCK ELEVENFor this final installment of Player of the Block, there are co-winners in both leagues. Ironically, both co-winners are teammates. One set of teammates are from a team that was one of the biggest success stories in the SPIBL, while the other set of teammates was from a team that was one of the biggest disappointments in the SPIBL. And the winners are... American League - Tim Hudson and Craig Biggio, Los Angeles Skyhawks When this season started, Los Angeles GM Brad Ficek made some bold moves in an attempt to put his team into postseason contention. On paper, the press was predicting that L.A. would contend for the division crown in the AL West. What happened was subpar performances that kept the team well out of contention all season. In a classic case of too little too late, the final block had dominating performances by a Skyhawk hurler and hitter. Craig Biggio would lead the AL in HRs (8), 2nd in RBIs (18), and 3rd in runs scored (13) for the final block. He would put up an impressive line of .328/.406/.766 with a big power surge to finish the season. Meanwhile, Tim Hudson would become the ace pitcher that L.A. had been hoping for all season. He would go 3-0 with a sparkling 0.44 ERA and a 0.87 WHIP while winning all of his starts in the final block. Both of these veterans are under contract next season for the Skyhawks and the hope is that this great finish will be something to build off of for next year. Honorable Mention:

.578/.622/.933, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 9 RS, 26 H National League -- Dan Haren and Andruw Jones, Anaheim Ants This blocks' co-winners in the NL come from the team that did the most down the stretch to improve their playoff chances. Anaheim had a scorching finish to the season to take the best record in the NL and the #1 seed in the postseason. Helping them to that 110-win season in block 11 was slugger Andruw Jones. He may not have OPSed as much as others this block (even those on his own team), but what he did do was lead the AL in both homeruns and RBIs for block 11. The final numbers were 7 long balls, 19 RBIs, 12 runs scored and a line of .262/.385/.677. A pitcher helped by these great offensive numbers is co-winner Dan Haren. While the Ants offensive display was all the talk of the media, Haren was quietly proving himself as the Ants' young staff ace. Cementing this status was is late season performance. In block 11, Haren would go 3-0 with one shutout, an 0.76 ERA, 10 Ks and a 0.93 WHIP. With production like that going down the stretch, it's no wonder that the Ants are hoping to stay hot in the postseason. Honorable Mention:
