League - Oscar Salazar, Oakland Oaks
In what can only be described an an improbably career highlight, career
minor leaguer Oscar Salazar had a "September to remember" in 2009 for the
Oakland Oaks. Salazar hit an unbelievable .438 with 7 home runs in
only 32 at-bats under the intense pressure of the AL Wild Card race.
Oscar also drove in 11 runs and scored 10 times. He was a big part of
Oakland's surprising playoff run this season.

League - Carlos Delgado, Atlanta Mets
Although Atlanta
suffered through another disappointing season in 2009, the Mets' veteran
first baseman Carlos Delgado will be the last to suffer any of the blame.
Delgado enjoyed a monster 2009 season, capped off by the NL Block 12 Player
of the Block award. Delgado blasted a league best 9 home runs and
drove in 21 runs in only 15 games. Carlos also walked 9 times in
compiling a blistering 1.482 OPS for the block.
