Hi everyone,
As promised, below is a step-by-step
summary of how each Block will work. The deadline dates for every step
for every block for the entire season were sent in a previous email, and
are also on the main page of the league website, www.spibabasketball.com .
Step 1: I will post the league file in the
yahoo groups file section, and send an email to the league notifying
everyone that it is ready.
Step 2: Everyone will create coach
files for the block. People can create one coach file or separate files
for each opponent. These files need to be created and posted to the files
section of the yahoo group by the deadline. There will be folders in the
files section for coach files for each block. Remember that the
coach files each block are for your road games, because in the
SPIBA we are responsible for playing our home games. If a team does
not submit a coach file by the deadline and I haven't heard from you, I will
make players active/inactive to account for usage and let the computer generate
one for you. If you have life circumstances and need an extension on this
deadline let Mike or I know in advance and we will do everything we
can within reason to accommodate that.
Step 3: Once the coach deadline
passes, everyone can go to the relevant folder in the files section of the
yahoo group and download and import their opponents' coach files for their home
games that block.
Step 4: Play your home games that
block-this is the fun part:) Send your game
results to the yahoo email group. It is nice if you can include the box
score in the body of the email so your opponent can quickly see how the game
went. Any games not submitted by the deadline listed will be autoplayed so I can get the next block's file out on time.
A quick note on deadlines-they are really
important for a league to function smoothly, so they will be enforced.
With that being said, if you have life circumstances that preclude you from
meeting league deadlines on a temporary basis, please openly communicate that
to Mike and I. We both have busy lives and
families, so we understand that real life does come up from time to time.
Letting us know when that occurs is infinitely better than falling completely
off the radar for any length of time. The best way to prevent
misunderstandings is to simply keep us in the
loop if something is going on that will compromise your ability to
fulfill league obligations.
I think that's everything! If anyone
has any questions, let me know between now and next Wednesday when I send out
the Block 1 league file. And, keep sending those default coach files if
you want one in the game file, and head coach requests if you haven't
sent one yet.
Thanks all!
Adam
