Rank Team Record Comment Previous
Baltimore 13-3 Prince Fielder's 9 homers and 22 rbi pace Baltimore to an outstanding start. 5
Houston 11-5 Don't take you eye of their runners - 22 out of 26 in stolen bases thus far.  Alfonso Soriano looks like an early MVP candidate. 3
St. Louis 10-6 Francisco Cordero for Cy Young? 4
Los Angeles 9-7 Slap hitters anyone?  An anemic 5 homers in 16 games. 2
Anaheim 7-9 Too much hype?  Well their pitching is tops in the league, but slumping offense has been their downfall. 1
Toronto 11-5 Holding their opposition to just a .225 batting average thus far. 6
San Francisco 11-5 Ryan Braun is batting .457 and striking fear in everyone they face. 7
Milwaukee 8-8 Poor road record (3-6) and .386 team slugging against RHP has hurt this team. 9
New York 8-8 After a poor start, New York taken 7 out of their last 10 lead by Matt Stairs.  Pitching leads the league with 74 walks. 12
Cleveland 8-8 Hard luck team - winless in 3 extra inning games. 13
Chicago 8-8 Leading the league with a .307 average and giving up less hits than innings pitched should equal a winning record. 14
Kansas City 5-11 Worst in the league in hitting - just .226 8
Colorado 7-9 Tops in the league in fielding. 11
Texas 5-11 Texas should bounce back from poor start.  Pitching (3.84) is good and offense should come around. 10
Boston 8-8 Matt Holliday leads the league with 23 rbi, however their pitching (5.17) is not getting too many people out. 15
Pittsburgh 8-8 Brad Hawpe leads the offense with 6 homers and 19 rbi. 18
Atlanta 7-9 Josh Hamilton is off to a hot start with 4 homers and 12 rbi. 17
Minnesota 10-6 Smoke and mirrors or does this team really have a pitching staff? 3.79 era thus far. 19
Seattle 8-8 Pitching is always stable in Seattle, they just need to figure out how to score some runs and strike out less (132ks leads league). 20
Florida 5-11 Their pitching staff has given up 26 home runs - that's too many. 16
Philadelphia 7-9 19 sacrifice attempts thus far?  How many one run games is this team in with a league worst 6.37 era? 22
Oakland 7-9 4-8 versus RHP and 3-1 vs LHP 23
San Diego 5-11 They have scored 1 or fewer runs in 5 games thus far. 21
Detroit 6-10 Six wins this early in the season is a surprise, however don't expect more than 55 on the year. 24
