  1. Established by owner Larry Spencer, 2005 is the inaugural season for the AL expansion team, Houston Black Dogs.
  2. January 12, 2005 - Houston selects P Josh Beckett as their #1 draft choice (10th overall) in the 2005 Dispersal Draft.
  3. April 4, 2005 - The Black Dogs play their first game and defeat the Chicago Blue Knights, 4-3 at home.
  4. In 2005, the Black Dogs finished 51 games out of first place.
  5. 2006 AL WILDCARD TEAM (#4 seed)
  6. October 12, 2006 - the Black Dogs are eliminated by the San Diego Black Sox (3-1) in the divisional playoffs, round one.
  7. 2007 AL CENTRAL DIVISION CHAMPIONS (#2 seed)
  8. November 1, 2007 - the Black Dogs are eliminated by the Los Angeles Skyhawks (4-2) in the divisional playoffs, round two.
  9. November 23, 2009 - Larry Spencer resigns from SPIBL.
  10. December 4, 2009 - Richard Grossman joins SPIBL as new owner of Houston franchise.
  11. February 5, 2010 - owner Richard Grossman re-names team the Houston Strokers.
  12. August 1, 2010 - Richard Grossman resigns from SPIBL (career record 41-66).
  13. October 25, 2010 - Matthew Gaeta joins SPIBL as new owner of Houston franchise.
  14. October 25, 2010 - owner Matthew Gaeta re-names team the Houston Toros.
  15. March 17, 2010 - owner Russ Lemmon joins SPIBL as new owner of Houston franchise.
  16. March 17, 2010 - owner Russ Lemmon re-names team the Houston Hatchets.
  17. April 1, 2011 - Houston is re-aligned to the National League Central division.
  18. March 24, 2012 - Russ Lemmon resigns from SPIBL.
  19. March 26, 2012 - owner Dave Mawson joins SPIBL as owner of Houston franchise.
  20. March 26, 2012 - owner Dave Mawson re-names team the Houston Colt .45's.
