Team Highlights:
- The San Diego Scorpions are
established in 2002 under owner Chris Feher.
- Zack Weingartner assumes
ownership of the ball club during the 2003 season.
- Prior to the 2004 campaign, San
Diego changes its name to the "Black Sox" after members of the
radical animal rights organization known as F.E.T.A. (Fair & Equitable Treatment for Arthropods) stage a
well-funded rally at Qualcomm Stadium to force the "Scorpion" mascot
out.
- 2005 AL WILDCARD TEAM (#4 seed)
- October 20, 2005 - The Black Sox
are eliminated by the Oakland Diamond Kings (4-3) in the divisional playoffs,
round two.
- 2006 AL WILDCARD TEAM (#5 seed)
- 2006 AL
CHAMPIONS (defeated the Chicago
Blue Knights, 4-2)
- November 11, 2006 - The Black
Sox are eliminated by the Toronto Sharpshooters (4-0) in the World Series.
- In 2007, the Black Sox finished 46
games out of first place.
